Soup party FAQ
Can I bring soup?
no. We will have 4 or 5 LARGE pots of home-made vegetarian soup. Plenty for the
whole crowd.
What can I bring?
You do not have to bring anything except your bowl & spoon (and a friend
if you like). You would be welcome to bring a side dish, dessert, appetizer,
or bottle of wine.
When should I arrive?
The party has a revolving crowd. Some people like to come early and leave early,
others come late and stay late, and there is a soup fanatic crowd who arrive
at the beginning and don't leave until well after midnight. We love you all. This year we have decided to start a little earlier than years past, 6:00 PM.
How late is too late to arrive?
We have a great group of friends every year who have “gigs” on
Saturday nights. There is always soup and crowd and food until midnight or
so. The latest arrival in 2002 (Lenny Young, Soup Savant) was served
at 2:34 AM.
Are
kids allowed?
Yes, our kids will all be there. There is a playroom with many toys. A number
of friends will bring their kids. There will also be a crowd of couples who
will get a babysitter just so that they can come, relax, and stay out later.
With or without...we hope you will attend.
Who are the soup SAVANTS?
There is a small group of close friends who have attended all of the previous
soup parties. On the 7th year they were dubbed “Soup Savants”.
If you ask real nice they might even show you their crowns.
May I bring my dog?
no. Our own pup (Sam) will fill the dog quota for the
evening.
May I feed your dog Sam?
no. He will steal enough food on his own.
Is this web site “overkill”?
Yes. Absolutely. We hope you have enjoyed reading it as much as we have enjoyed
putting it together. much love, Stephen & Melissa
